API Keys
API keys let external applications and integrations access your Booked55 workspace data programmatically. Each key has configurable permissions so you can control exactly what it can do.
Creating an API key
- 1
Navigate to API Keys
Go to Workspace Settings → API Keys from the sidebar.
- 2
Click "Create API Key"
Open the creation form.
- 3
Set a name
Give the key a descriptive name (e.g., "Zapier Integration" or "MCP Server"). This helps you identify what each key is used for.
- 4
Configure permissions
Choose which operations this key can perform: Read (view data), Write (create and update), Delete (remove records). Grant only the minimum permissions needed.
- 5
Create and copy the key
Click "Create." The API key is shown once — copy it immediately and store it securely. You will not be able to see the full key again.
Permission levels
| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| Read | View contacts, companies, pipelines, events, activities, and other data. |
| Write | Create new records and update existing ones. |
| Delete | Remove records from the workspace. |
Permissions are additive. A key with Read + Write can view and modify data but cannot delete. A key with all three has full access.
Managing keys
The API Keys page shows a list of all keys with their name, permissions, creation date, and a delete button. You can:
- View key details — Name and permissions are always visible.
- Delete / Revoke — Click delete and confirm to immediately revoke the key. Any integrations using this key will stop working.
Common use cases
- MCP server — Booked55's MCP server uses API keys to let AI clients interact with CRM data.
- Custom integrations — Build workflows that sync Booked55 data with other tools.
- Data export — Create a read-only key for scripts that extract reporting data.
