Pipeline & Event Assignment

Connecting contacts to pipelines and events is how you turn a list of names into an active sales process. This page explains how to assign contacts and what happens when you do.

Assigning a contact to a pipeline

There are several ways to add a contact to a pipeline:

  • From the Contacts list — Click the “Change pipeline” action on any contact row. A modal lets you select the pipeline and the starting stage.
  • From the Contact Detail page — Use the “Pipeline” button in the header to open the pipeline selection modal.
  • From the Pipeline board — Click “Add Contact” on the Kanban board to search for and add an existing contact to a stage.

What happens when you assign

When a contact is added to a pipeline, a pipeline item is created. This item contains:

  • The stage the contact is currently in
  • A monetary value (optional, for forecasting)
  • An assigned team member
  • Notes specific to this deal

The contact appears as a card on the Kanban board, and any stage automations for the initial stage will trigger.

Assigning a contact to an event

Linking a contact to an event records that they are attending (or attended) that event. You can do this from:

  • Contacts list — Click “Change event” on the row.
  • Contact Detail — Use the header action.
  • Event Detail → Attendance tab — Search for a contact and add them to the event's attendee list. See Event Attendance.

Changing a contact's company

From the contact detail header, click “Change Company” to link the contact to a different company record. This updates the company association and the contact will appear under that company's detail page.
